Application Analysis of Empathetic Nursing Based on Narrative Medicine on Postoperative Patients with Ovarian Cancer

Abstract：Objective:To explore the clinical effect of using narrative medicine based empathetic nursing model in postoperative ovarian cancer patients.Method:120 ovarian cancer patients who underwent surgical treatment admitted at Jinan Integrated Traditional Chinese and Western Medicine Hospital from March 2023 to September 2024.They were randomly divided into a control group and an observation group,with 60 patients in each group.The control group only received routine postoperative nursing measures,while the observation group received empathetic nursing measures based on narrative medicine.The postoperative recovery-related indicators,psychological state,cancer-related fatigue symptoms,and nursing satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Result:The recovery time of bowel sounds,the time of first rectal exhaust and defecation,the healing time of the incision,and the hospital stay in the observation group were all shorter than those in the control group,the satisfaction with nursing was higher in the observation group compared to the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Before the intervention,both groups had anxiety,depression,feelings of stigma,and symptoms of cancer-related fatigue.There were no statistically significant differences in psychological scores such as the Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS),the Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS),the Perceived Stigma and Discrimination Scale(PDD),and the Cancer Fatigue Scale(CFS)between the two groups(P>0.05).After the intervention,the above-mentioned scores of the two groups decreased,the above-mentioned scores of the observation group were lower than those of the control group,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of the empathetic nursing model based on narrative medicine in the postoperative patients with ovarian cancer is beneficial to their postoperative recovery,accelerates the recovery process,and significantly improves the patients'negative emotions related to the disease and fatigue symptoms,greatly enhancing their satisfaction with the nursing care.
