Abstract:Objective:To explore the practical value of a graded nursing model based on Early Warning in Children(PEWS)scoring guidance in the care of children with severe pneumonia, and to provide evidence-based support for improving clinical nursing plans for children with severe pneumonia and enhancing the quality of specialized nursing.Method:80 children with severe pneumonia admitted to Putian First Hospital from April 2023 to April 2025 were randomly divided into two groups, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group received graded nursing care based on PEWS score. Both groups received nursing care until discharge. The blood gas indicators, recovery status, incidence of complications, and comfort level were compared between the two groups.Result:After nursing, the arterial oxygen partial pressure(PaO2)and arterial oxygen saturation(SaO2)in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, while the arterial carbon dioxide partial pressure(PaCO2)and Kolcaba Comfort Scale(GCQ)scores were higher than those in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The duration of cough, shortness of breath, high fever, and hospitalization time in the observation group were shorter than those in the control group, and the incidence of complications was less than that in the control group, with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:The graded nursing model guided by PEWS scoring can accurately evaluate the condition of children with severe pneumonia.By implementing personalized nursing interventions,it can effectively improve the blood gas indicators of children, reduce complications, accelerate disease recovery, and improve their comfort, providing a scientific and efficient new path for the nursing of children with severe pneumonia.
