Abstract:Objective:To investigate the comparative efficacy of methylprednisolone and dexamethasone in the clinical treatment of anaphylactic shock caused by ant bites.Method:A retrospective analysis was conducted on 52 patients with anaphylactic shock due to ant bites admitted to Waisha Community Hospital in Longhu District,Shantou City, from April 2022 to May 2025.Based on different treatment medications, patients were divided into a control group and an observation group, each comprising 26 cases. All enrolled patients received standardized emergency treatment for anaphylactic shock. The control group received dexamethasone therapy, while the observation group received methylprednisolone as the intervention.Clinical efficacy, recovery time of clinical symptoms, urine output levels within 5 hours, and adverse reaction incidence rates were compared between the two groups.Result:The observation group demonstrated superior clinical efficacy compared to the control group, shorter time to clinical symptom resolution, higher urine output within 5 hours, and lower incidence of adverse reactions, with all differences being statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the clinical treatment of allergic shock caused by ant-venom bites, methylprednisolone shows superior efficacy compared to dexamethasone. It not only accelerates the speed of symptom relief, but also increases the urine output of patients, and reduces the occurrence of adverse reactions.
