The Application of Airway Management Team Intervention in Mechanically Ventilated Patients with Pulmonary Infection
LIN Yongxian
Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of airway management team intervention in patients with pulmonary infection undergoing mechanical ventilation.Method:A total of 80 patients with pulmonary infection who were admitted to the Yunan County Second People's Hospital and received mechanical ventilation from July 2024 to June 2025 were selected and randomly grouped by the table method, with 40 cases in each group. The control group received routine care, and the study group received airway management. The mechanical ventilation, hospital stay, weaning success rate, arterial blood gas changes, complications, and satisfaction with airway humidification were observed and compared.Result:The study group had shorter mechanical ventilation and hospitalization periods, higher success rate of weaning from the ventilator, and higher satisfaction with airway humidification, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The study group had lower pH values, arterial blood carbon dioxide partial pressure(PCO2),oxygenation index(OI),and a lower incidence of complications, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:When mechanical ventilation is applied to patients with pulmonary infection, the intervention of the airway management team can shorten the mechanical ventilation and hospital stay, increase the success rate of weaning from the ventilator and the satisfaction with airway humidification, make the blood gas indicators more ideal, and have fewer complications.
