Abstract:Objective:Xinjiang,as a typical extreme arid area, has regional specificity in the influence of climatic factors(temperature, humidity, wind speed)on respiratory diseases. This study focuses on the Urumqi and Changji areas to explore the association between climatic factors and the number of asthma cases.Method:Based on the number of asthma patients visiting Changji People's Hospital and Urumqi Military Region General Hospital from 2019 to 2023,as well as the average monthly temperature, average monthly humidity, and average monthly wind speed during the same period,Pearson correlation analysis and time series analysis were used to explore the correlation between climatic factors and the number of asthma cases.Result:The peak period of asthma onset in both places was in spring(March to May),and the low peak period was in winter(December to February of the following year).During the period from 2019 to 2023,the number of female patients with bronchial asthma visiting Changji People's Hospital was higher than that of male patients, and the total number of patients was on the rise. The number of male patients visiting the General Hospital of the Urumqi Military Region is greater than that of female patients. The number of patients with bronchial asthma visiting Changji People's Hospital increased significantly in March, and the number of patients visiting Urumqi Military Region General Hospital also increased significantly in March and September. The Pearson correlation coefficient showed that the average monthly number of bronchial asthma patients in Changji People's Hospital was positively correlated with the average monthly temperature and average monthly wind speed(P>0.05),but negatively correlated with the average monthly humidity(P<0.01).The average monthly number of bronchial asthma patients in the General Hospital of Urumqi Military Region was positively correlated with the average monthly temperature and average monthly wind speed, and negatively correlated with the average monthly humidity(P>0.05).Conclusion:The prevalent season of bronchial asthma in Xinjiang region is spring(March to May).Among the climatic factors in Xinjiang region, the average temperature and average wind speed are positively correlated with the number of cases of bronchial asthma, while the average humidity is negatively correlated with the number of cases of bronchial asthma. That is,the higher the average temperature and average wind speed, the more people will fall ill,the lower the average humidity, the more people will fall ill.
