Abstract:Objective:To investigate and compare the safety and clinical efficacy of transurethral bipolar plasma kinetic resection of the prostate(PKRP)versus transurethral bipolar plasma enucleation of the prostate(TUPEP)combined with PKRP in patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia(BPH)complicated with calculi.Method:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the dataof 82 patients with BPH and stones treated at the Third Hospital of Baotou Steel Group between December 2021 and February 2025.According to different treatment modalities, the patients were divided into observation and control groups(41 cases each). The control group received PKRP alone, while the observation group received TUPEP combined with PKRP.Clinical efficacy, safety, prostate symptom scores, maximum urinary flow rate(Qmax),quality of life, and incidence of complications were compared between the two groups.Result:Compared with the control group, the observation group exhibited shorter operative time and higher clinical efficacy(P<0.05).Furthermore,the observation group demonstrated lower prostate symptom scores, higher Qmax, improved quality of life scores, and lower complication rates compared with the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:TUPEP combined with PKRP in the treatment of BPH patients with calculi has shorter operation time and bladder irrigation time,is safer, helps improve clinical efficacy, relieve prostate symptoms of patients, increase their maximum urine flow rate, promote the improvement of patients'living standards, and reduce the incidence of complications.
