Abstract:Objective:To explore the application effect of bedside portable endoscopy-guided nasoenteral tube placement in enteral nutrition therapy for critically ill patients.Method:A total of 120 patients who received enteral nutrition support with short peptide nutritional preparations and were admitted to the ICU of a tertiary hospital in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region from June 2022 to June 2024 were selected and divided into the observation group(60 cases with nasogastric tube placement guided by portable endoscopy)and the control group(60 cases with conventional nasogastric tube placement)according to the feeding route. The levels of hemoglobin(Hb)and serum protein(ALB)after 7 and 14 days of enteral nutrition support were compared between the two groups of patients. The incidences of complications such as aspiration, constipation, abdominal distension, and diarrhea,as well as the rate of reaching the standard of enteral nutrition and intestinal function were compared between the two groups of patients.Result:After 7 and 14 days of nutritional support, the levels of Hb and ALB in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the rate of reaching the standard of enteral nutrition was higher than that in the control group, and the indicators of DAO and D-lactic acid were both lower than those in the control group. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Bedside portable endoscopy technology can precisely establish enteral nutrition pathways, improve the nutritional status of critically ill patients, reduce enteral nutrition-related complications, and increase the success rate of enteral nutrition treatment. It is recommended as the preferred catheterization technique for post-pyloric feeding in critically ill patients.
