Abstract:Objective:To compare the clinical application of two fluorescent PCR based respiratory multi pathogen nucleic acid detection reagents in children with respiratory tract infections, and provide a basis for selecting appropriate detection strategies in clinical practice.Method:Throat swab samples from 343 children with respiratory tract infections in the People's Hospital of Leshan Central District from May 2024 to August 2024 were selected for nucleic acid testing using reagent A and reagent B.Reagent A detects influenza A/B virus, respiratory syncytial virus, respiratory adenovirus, human rhinovirus, and mycoplasma pneumoniae nucleic acid, while reagent B detects respiratory syncytial virus, respiratory adenovirus, human metapneumovirus, and parainfluenza virus type I/II/III nucleic acid. The detection status of two reagents and compare the detection differences was analyzed.Result:The pathogen detection rate of reagent A was 45.77%,mainly consisting of human rhinovirus and respiratory adenovirus. The detection rate of reagent B was 32.65%,mainly consisting of parainfluenza virus and respiratory adenovirus. The two reagents showed good consistency in detecting respiratory adenovirus, with a total agreement rate of 97.67%and a consistency coefficient of 0.913,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Based on the detection results of comprehensive reagents A and B,there were 159 cases(46.36%)of single infection and 44 cases(12.83%)of complex infection in 343 patients. Conclusion:The overall positive detection rate of reagent A is higher, and reagent B has an advantage in detecting parainfluenza virus. The two reagents have complementarity in pathogen spectrum coverage.Clinically, appropriate selection or combination of detection reagents should be based on local epidemiological characteristics and pathogen spectrum requirements to achieve accurate diagnosis and optimized treatment.
