Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy and visual recovery outcomes of autologous limbal stromal cell transplantation(LSCT)in patients undergoing pterygium surgery.Method:A total of 100 patients with pterygium admitted to Xiamen Hong'ai Hospital from March 2022 to March 2024 were enrolled. They were divided into an observation group(n=50,treated with LSCT)and a control group(n=50,treated with pterygium excision)based on surgical approach.Postoperative recovery indicators, visual acuity, refractive error, tear secretion function, and complication incidence were compared between the two groups.Result:Postoperatively, the recovery time in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The mean visual acuity in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, while the mean corneal astigmatism and the overall complication rate were lower in the observation group than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:Among patients undergoing pterygium surgery,LSCT treatment yields superior outcomes, offering more pronounced advantages in improving visual acuity, refractive error, and tear film secretion function, while effectively preventing postoperative complications.
