Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical efficacy of Mineral Trioxide Aggregate(MTA)in treating traumatic injuries to young permanent teeth in children, thereby providing clinical evidence for selecting root canal treatment materials in pediatric dentistry.Method:A total of 126 pediatric patients with traumatic injuries to young permanent teeth admitted to Xuzhou Stomatological Hospital from January 2024 to March 2025 were enrolled.Based on root canal filling materials, they were divided into two groups:the MTA group(62 cases, using mineral trioxide aggregate)and the calcium hydroxide group(64 cases, using calcium hydroxide paste). At 6 and 12 months post-treatment,endodontic repair indicators, tissue repair and treatment efficacy metrics, oral health-related quality of life, and parental satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Result:Postoperatively, the apical obturation success rate, apical foramen reduction rate, and barrier formation rate were all higher in the MTA group than in the calcium hydroxide group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The treatment duration was shorter in the MTA group than in the control group, and the root canal sealing quality score was higher than in the calcium hydroxide group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).At 6 months postoperatively, the COHIP-19 total score and parental satisfaction were higher in the MTA group than in the calcium hydroxide group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:MTA significantly enhances root canal treatment efficacy and tissue repair quality in pediatric traumatic injuries to young permanent teeth, shortens treatment duration, and effectively improves children's oral health-related quality of life while increasing parental satisfaction.
