Abstract:Objective:To investigate the efficacy of combining the Rosenthal effect with standardized breathing training in endoscopic submucosal dissection(ESD)for esophageal cancer.Method:A total of 80 patients with esophageal cancer undergoing ESD treatment at the First Affiliated Hospital of Xiamen University between May 2023 and May 2025 were enrolled.Using a random number table, they were divided into a control group and an observation group, with 40 patients in each group. The control group received routine care, while the observation group underwent the Rosenthal effect combined with standardized breathing training in addition to routine care. Both groups received intervention until 7 days postoperatively.Changes in psychological status,self-efficacy,and respiratory function indicators were compared between the two groups.Result:At 7 days postoperatively, the anxiety and depression scores in the observation group were significantly lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).At 7 days postoperatively, the scores for positive attitude,self-stress reduction, and self-decision-making in the observation group were significantly higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).At 7 days postoperatively, the first-second forced expiratory volume(FEV1)and forced vital capacity(FVC)values in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:The Rosenthal effect combined with standardized breathing training can alleviate negative psychological distress in patients undergoing endoscopic submucosal dissection for esophageal cancer, while improving their self-efficacy and respiratory function.
