Abstract:Objective:To investigate the efficacy of combined nasopharyngeal breathing training and postural exercises during gastroscopy.Method:Using a random number table,83 patients undergoing gastroscopy at Jinjiang Anhai Hospital from March 2024 to March 2025 were divided into a control group(41 cases)and an observation group(42 cases). The control group received training in transnasal pharyngeal breathing techniques, while the observation group additionally performed postural exercises on top of the aforementioned training. The changes in blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, and heart rate levels, endoscopy insertion time and successful completion time, patient responsiveness during the examination, and psychological status[Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)and Self-Rating Depression Scale(SDS)]were compared between the two groups.Result:After examination, the systolic blood pressure, diastolic blood pressure, blood oxygen saturation, and heart rate in the observation group were all lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The endotracheal tube insertion time and successful intubation time in the observation group were both shorter than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The low response rate in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Both SAS and SDS scores in the observation group were lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:Patients undergoing gastroscopy who practice transnasal pharyngeal breathing techniques combined with postural exercises can improve blood pressure and heart rate variability, enhance blood oxygenation levels, reduce endoscopy insertion and successful completion times, diminish physiological reactions, and alleviate psychological symptoms of anxiety and depression.
