Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of extracorporeal diaphragmatic pacemaker combined with short-term respiratory muscle training on patients with acute exacerbation of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(AECOPD).Method:A total of 120 patients with AECOPD admitted to the Guizhou Provincial People's Hospital from January 2022 to January 2025 were included, and they were assigned to two groups with random numerical table. The control group(60 cases)received short-term respiratory muscle training, while the observation group(60 cases)received extracorporeal diaphragmatic pacemaker combined with short-term respiratory muscle training. The improvement of symptoms, blood gas analysis indicators, lung function, respiratory mechanical parameters and survival quality were compared between the two groups.Result:The observation group showed lower Modified Medical Research Council Dyspnea Scale(mMRC)and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Assessment Test(CAT)scores than the control group after treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The observation group had lower partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)and higher arterial partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2)and oxygenation index(OI)compared with the control group after treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The observation group demonstrated smaller respiratory mechanics parameters, higher pulmonary function level and survival quality score compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of extracorporeal diaphragmatic pacemaker and short-term respiratory muscle training can effectively alleviate symptoms of dyspnea in AECOPD patients, regulate blood gas analysis indicators and oxygenation status, and improve survival quality.
