Abstract:Objective:To investigate the factors influencing residual pain in patients with vertebral compression fractures(VCF)after percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)and to explore intervention measures.Method:A total of 116 VCF patients who underwent PVP at Beijing Jishuitan Hospital Guizhou Hospital from May 2024 to May 2025 were selected as the study subjects.One-month follow-up was conducted post-surgery,the patients were grouped based on whether residual pain occurred.Collect the following data for the two groups:gender, age, body mass index, whether there was lumbar and dorsal fascia injury, the number of fractured vertebrae, history of hypertension, operation time, surgical approach method, distribution method of bone cement, the amount of bone cement injected into a single vertebra, and whether there was bone cement leakage.Univariate analysis was performed on the general data, followed by multivariate logistic regression analysis for factors with statistical significance,to identify risk factors for residual pain.Result:In the one month of 116 VCF patients follow-up after PVP,31 patients experienced residual pain, with an incidence rate of 26.72%.Univariate analysis showed there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of gender, age, number of vertebral bodies involved, history of hypertension, surgical time, and cement distribution method(P>0.05).However,there were statistically significant differences in body mass index, presence of lumbar fascia injury, surgical approach, single vertebral body cement injection volume, and presence of cement leakage(P<0.05).Logistic regression analysis revealed that a body mass index of≥24 kg/m2,lumbar fascia injury, bilateral surgical approach, single vertebral body cement injection volume of≥5 mL,and cement leakage were independent risk factors for residual pain after PVP in VCF patients(P<0.05 and OR>1).Conclusion:Residual pain after PVP in VCF patients is associated with a body mass index of≥24 kg/m2,lumbar fascia injury, bilateral surgical approach, single vertebral body cement injection volume of≥5 mL,and cement leakage.Clinical attention should be given to these factors, and appropriate interventions should be implemented.
