Abstract:Objective:To explore the short-term and long-term effects of argon plasma coagulation(APC)combined with endoscopic mucosal resection(EMR)in the treatment of patients with larger colonic polyps.Method:A total of 110 patients with large colorectal polyps admitted to the Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital of Dongxihu District,Wuhan, from March 2023 to June 2024 were selected as the study subjects.According to different surgical methods, they were divided into a control group of 55 cases treated with EMR and an observation group of 55 cases treated with APC combined with EMR.Perioperative indicators, clinical efficacy, complications, and long-term outcomes were observed in both groups.Result:Compared with the control group, the observation group had significantly reduced intraoperative blood loss, although the operation time was slightly longer.Hospital stay was significantly shorter, total effective rate was higher, and the recurrence rate after one year was lower. At one month post-operation,SF-36 scores in the observation group were higher, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Comparison of SF-36 scores before surgery and 6 months after surgery,as well as the incidence of complications, showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:In the treatment of patients with large colorectal polyps, the combined use of APC and EMR demonstrates significant short-and long-term effects, reducing intraoperative blood loss, shortening hospital stay, enhancing clinical efficacy, improving early postoperative quality of life, and lowering postoperative recurrence rates.
