Abstract:Objective:To explore the potential categories of the needs of family members of critically ill comatose patients and analyze the influencing factors of category differences.Method:A total of 275 family members of critically ill comatunconscious patients admitted to the Affiliated Hospital of Putian University from September 2023 to February 2025 were selected as the research subjects. The Family Needs Scale for Critically Ill Patients(CCFNI)was used to evaluate the scores of the family members in five dimensions:self-comfort,obtaining support, obtaining information, closeness to patients, and condition guarantee. The optimal number of family member needs categories was analyzed through potential profiling and named.General data was collected using a self-designed data questionnaire. The influencing factors of the differences in family member needs categories of patients were analyzed through univariate analysis and multivariate logistic regression.Result:The needs of 275 family members of critically comatose patients could be classified into three potential categories:56 cases of"low need type",132 cases of"moderate need-support dominant type",and 87 cases of"high need type".The results of multivariate logistic regression analysis showed that the APACHEⅡscore of the patients, the educational level of family members, care experience,Vik Forest Physician Trust Scale(WFPTS)score,Self-Rating Anxiety Scale(SAS)score, and Social Support Rating Scale(SSRS)score were all independent influencing factors for the potential different categories of needs of family members of critically ill comatose patients, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The needs of family members of critically ill comatose patients show heterogeneity and are influenced by factors such as the APACHEⅡscore of the patients and the educational level of the family members.Medical staff should carry out targeted interventions based on different types of influencing factors to precisely meet the needs of patients'families.
