The Effect and Safety of Guyuling Capsules Combined with Zoledronic Acid in the Treatment of Patients with Severe Postmenopausal Osteoporosis

Abstract：Objective:To explore the efficacy and safety of Guyuling Capsules combined with zoledronic acid in postmenopausal patients with severe osteoporosis.Method:A total of 160 postmenopausal patients with severe osteoporosis in Longyan Second Hospital from March 2022 to March 2024 were selected and divided into two groups with 80 cases in each group by random number table.The control group was treated with zoledronic acid,the observation group was treated with Guyuling Capsules on the control group'treatment.The treatment effects of osteoporosis(total effective rate),the total incidence of adverse reactions,bone mineral density in each part before and after treatment,bone turnover indicators[type I collagen carboxyl-terminal peptide cross-linking(β-CTX)and total type I procollagen amino-terminal elongated peptide(TPINP)]and trabecular bone structure(average trabecular thickness and average trabecular septum)were compared between the two groups.Result:The observation group's total effective rate of osteoporosis treatment was 86.25%,it was higher than that of control group(P<0.05).The two groups'total incidence of various adverse reactions were not statistically significant(P>0.05).Before treatment,two groups'bone mineral density,bone turnover indicators and trabecular bone structure were not statistically significant(P>0.05).After 6 months of treatment,observation group's bone mineral density and average trabecular thickness of each part were significantly higher than those in the control group,and the average trabecular interval was significantly smaller than that in the control group.After 3 months and 6 months of treatment,the bone turnover indicators were significantly lower than those in the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination of Guyuling Capsules and zoledronic acid has a good therapeutic effect in postmenopausal patients with severe osteoporosis,and its safety is worthy of recognition.It can significantly improve the bone mineral density,bone transition state and trabecular bone structure of these patients.Therefore,its application value in postmenopausal patients with severe osteoporosis is relatively high.
