Abstract:Objective:To explore the effect of using a low and small incision in thyroid cancer resection.Method:A total of 66 patients with thyroid cancer who underwent surgery and were admitted to Xinyi Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from January 2022 to August 2024 were selected as the research subjects and grouped according to different incision approaches.Among them,34 patients were admitted to the control group using the traditional median cervical approach, and the other 32 patients were admitted to the experimental group using the lateral low small incision approach. The differences in surgery-related conditions, cosmetic outcomes and postoperative complications were compared between the two groups.Result:Compared with the control group, the experimental group had smaller incisions, shorter operation and hospital stay, less bleeding and drainage volume, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).In terms of scar pigmentation, vascular distribution, thickness and softness in the evaluation of cosmetic effects, the scores of the experimental group were all lower than those of the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of postoperative complications in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with the traditional open thyroid cancer resection, the low-position small incision approach has less trauma, faster recovery, better cosmetic effect and lower complication rate.
