Abstract:Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of percutaneous vertebroplasty(PVP)with high viscosity bone cement in the treatment of osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures(OVCFs).Method:120 patients with OVCFs from January 2022 to January 2024 in Xintai People's Hospital were selected as the subjects, they were divided into observation group and control group by random number table method, with 60 cases in each groups. The observation group received high viscosity bone cement infusion during surgery, while the control group received low viscosity bone cement infusion during surgery. The perioperative related indicators, postoperative bone cement leakage, complications, vertebral re-fracture,and related clinical scores[visual analogue scale(VAS),Oswestry disability index(ODI)]were selected as observation indicators.Result:There were no significant differences in the operation duration, intraoperative blood loss, postoperative hospital stay, bone cement perfusion volume, and bone cement diffusion distribution score between the two groups(P>0.05).There were no significant differences in the total incidence of postoperative complications and the incidence of vertebral re-fracture between the two groups(P>0.05).Compared with the control group, the incidence of bone cement leakage in the observation group was lower on the first day after operation, the ODI score and kyphosis Cobb Angle were lower 6 months after operation, and the anterior height of injured vertebra was higher 6 months after operation, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The application of high viscosity bone cement in PVP surgery for OVCFs patients can provide better recovery of vertebral structure damage and functional impairment, and effectively reduce the incidence of postoperative bone cement leakage.
