Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effects of different timing of percutaneous drainage on inflammatory cytokine levels and prognosis in patients with moderate-to-severe acute pancreatitis complicated by abdominal fluid accumulation.Method:Using a random number table,80 patients with moderate-to-severe acute pancreatitis complicated by abdominal fluid accumulation admitted to Longyan Second Hospital from September 2022 to December 2024 were divided into Group A(40 cases, undergoing percutaneous drainage within 24-48 h)and Group B(40 cases, undergoing percutaneous drainage within 49-72 h).The efficacy, amount of abdominal fluid, levels of inflammatory cytokines,Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation(APACHE)Ⅱ scores,Marshall scores, length of hospital stay, duration of ICU treatment, and incidence of abdominal infection were compared between the two groups.Result:The efficacy of Group A was higher than that of Group B,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The amount of abdominal fluid in Group A was less than that in Group B.Levels of C-reactive protein,interleukin-6,procalcitonin,and tumor necrosis factor-α were lower in Group A than in Group B.APACHE Ⅱ scores and Marshall scores were lower in Group A than in Group B,and the length of hospital stay and ICU treatment time were shorter in Group A than in Group B,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:Patients with moderate-to-severe acute pancreatitis complicated by abdominal fluid accumulation may benefit from percutaneous drainage within 24-48 h after diagnosis. This intervention enhances treatment efficacy, reduces inflammatory response, and improves patient condition and prognosis.
