Abstract:Objective:Study the risk factors for postoperative complications in elderly hip fracture patients.Method:A case-control study was conducted to analyze the clinical data of 551 elderly patients with hip fracture admitted to the Second Affiliated Hospital Soochow University from January 2019 to December 2020.The postoperative complications of the patients were followwd up and recorded.According to whether occurred after the operation, the patients were divided into the complication group(99 cases)and the no-complication group(452 cases). The gender, age, preoperative complications(including hypertension, diabetes, cardiovascular system diseases, chronic respiratory system diseases, neurological diseases, and chronic renal failure),anemia at admission, fracture types,American Society of Anesthesiologists(ASA)grade, operative method, preoperative waiting time, duration of operation, and perioperative blood transfusion were recorded for both groups.Univariate logistic regression analysis was used to analyze the correlation between the above indicators and postoperative complications, all factors with P<0.2 in the univariate analysis were included in multivariate logistic regression analysis to identify the risk factors for postoperative complications.Result:Univariate analysis revealed that age≥80 years, anemia at admission, perioperative blood transfusion, cardiovascular system disease, chronic respiratory system diseases, neurological diseases, fracture types, and operative method were associated with postoperative complications, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).All variables with P<0.2 in univariate analysis were included in the multivariable logistic regression analysis, and the results showed that anemia at admission,age≥80 years, cardiovascular system disease, chronic respiratory system disease, and diabetes were associated with postoperative complications. Conclusion:Anemia at admission,age≥80 years, cardiovascular system disease, chronic respiratory system disease and diabetes mellitus are independent risk factors for postoperative complications.
