Abstract:Objective:By comparing and observing the postoperative corneal astigmatism, visual acuity, inflammatory factors, etc.of elderly patients with hard nuclear cataract through small incision non-phacoemulsification(PHACO)and conventional incision phacoemulsification cataract removal, the therapeutic effect of small incision non PHACO on elderly patients with hard nuclear cataract was evaluated.Method:From January 2023 to January 2024,80 elderly patients with hard nucleus(grade IV-V nucleus)cataracts admitted to the People's Hospital of Wuchuan Gelao and Miao Autonomous County were selected as the study objects and divided into a control group and an observation group according to the random number table method, with 40 cases in each group.Among them, the control group was given conventional incision PHACO treatment, and the observation group was given small incision non-PHACO treatment. The patients were followed up for 3 months to compare the clinical efficacy, degree of corneal astigmatism, uncorrected visual acuity, cornea, inflammatory factors and complications of the two groups.Result:The improvement rate of vision in the observation group was higher than that in the control group. After treatment, the degree of corneal astigmatism in the observation group was lower than that in the control group, the uncorrected visual acuity was higher than that in the control group, the density of corneal endothelial cells was greater than that in the control group, the tear film break-up time was longer than that in the control group, the central corneal thickness was greater than that in the control group, the levels of tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α)and interleukin-1 β(IL-β)in aqueous humor were lower than those in the control group, and the incidence of complications was lower than that in the control group. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Small incision non-PHACO surgery can effectively relieve the degree of corneal astigmatism in elderly patients with hard nuclear cataract, improve vision, enhance corneal function, reduce the inflammatory response of the body, and lower the incidence of complications.
