Clinical Effect of Visceral Ointment Massage Therapy as an Adjuvant Therapy for Functional Constipation Patients and its Impact on Serum VIP and CGRP Levels

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of Zangfu ointment therapy in the treatment of patients with Functional Constipation(FC).The effects of Intestinal intestinal intestinal peptides on Vasoactive Intestinal Peptide(VIP),Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide(CGRP)and intestinal microecology were analyzed.Method:A total of 116 patients with FC admitted from December 2022 to December 2024 were divided into control group(58 cases)and study group(58 cases)according to random number table method.Defecation status(pain,frequency,discomfort and difficulty of defecation)was assessed by self-rating scale,serum VIP,CGRP,5-hydroxytryptamine(5-HT)and Substance P(SP)levels were detected by ELISA,and intestinal flora(yeast,Lactobacillus,bifidobacterium and enterobacter)were analyzed by plate colony counting.The oxidative stress indexes(superoxide dismutase SOD,malondialdehyde MDA)and the total clinical effective rate were evaluated.Result:After treatment,the levels of serum VIP,CGRP,5-HT,MDA,and the counts of yeasts and Enterobacteriaceae were significantly lower;the defecation symptom scores(pain,frequency,sense of incompleteness,difficulty)of the study group were significantly lower than those of the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The levels of SP,SOD,and the counts of Lactobacillus and Bifidobacterium in the study group were significantly higher,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The total effective rate of the study group was 91.38%,which was significantly higher than 75.86%in the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Zangfu ointment therapy can effectively regulate gastrointestinal neurotransmitter secretion in FC patients,inhibit oxidative stress response,optimize intestinal flora structure,and improve defecation function.Its efficacy may be attributed to the synergistic effect of drugs and massage.
