Abstract:Objective:To compare the characteristics of three different methods for nasojejunal feeding tube placement:ultrasound-guided,magnetic navigation and blind insertion.Method:A retrospective analysis was conducted on patients who required nasojejunal nutritional therapy in the hospital from January 2016 to December 2024.According to different catheterization methods, they were classified into 183 cases of blind insertion method,170 cases of magnetic navigation method and 194 cases of ultrasound-guided method. The success rate of tube placement, number of insertion attempts, insertion time, and complications were compared among the three groups.Result:The success rates of magnetic navigation and ultrasound-guided methods were significantly higher than that of blind insertion. The partial success rate and failure rate of blind insertion were significantly higher than those of magnetic navigation and ultrasound-guided methods. The number of insertion attempts and the insertion time for successful placements were significantly higher in the blind insertion group compared to the magnetic navigation and ultrasound-guided groups(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in the success rate, partial success rate, and failure rate between the magnetic navigation and ultrasound-guided methods(P>0.05).There was also no significant difference in the number of insertion attempts or the insertion time for successful placements between the magnetic navigation and ultrasound-guided groups(P>0.05).No serious complications occurred in any of 3 groups. Conclusion:The ultrasound-guided method has a high success rate, requires fewer insertion attempts, and shorter insertion time.It is also simple and easy to perform, making it suitable for implementation in primary healthcare units.
