Study on the Analgesic Efficacy of Acupuncture in Postoperative Pain Management Following Total Hip Arthroplasty

Abstract:Objective:To investigate the analgesic efficacy and safety of press needle therapy after total hip arthroplasty.Method:A total of 90 patients undergoing total hip arthroplasty and experiencing postoperative pain admitted to the Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine Affiliated Hospital from January to June 2024 were selected as observation subjects and divided into an experimental group and a control group according to a random number table method,with 45 cases in each group.The control group received basic analgesia,while the experimental group received basic analgesia plus press needle acupuncture treatment.The pain levels,anxiety and depression status,and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Result:The pain,anxiety,and depression scores in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group,and the quality of life score was higher in the experimental group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Acupuncture demonstrates significant efficacy in post-total hip replacement pain management,thereby enhancing patients'quality of life.
