Abstract:Objective:To investigate the key operational points, complications, perioperative indicators, and postoperative recovery effects of femoral intertrochanteric fracture treatment using proximal femoral nail antirotation(PFNA).Method:A total of 60 patients with femoral intertrochanteric fractures treated at Jiangyin Traditional Chinese Medicine Orthopedic Hospital between January 2021 and June 2024 were enrolled.Patients were divided into Group A and Group B(30 cases each)according to different surgical approaches:Group A underwent femoral proximal locking plate internal fixation, while Group B received PFNA internal fixation. The therapeutic outcomes and complications were compared between the two groups.Result:Compared with Group A,Group B exhibited significantly reduced intraoperative blood loss and postoperative drainage volume, shorter hospital stays, and lower complication rates. The Harris scores in Group B were notably higher at both 3-month and 6-month follow-up,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:For patients with intertrochanteric femoral fractures, the use of PFNA demonstrates superior surgical outcomes compared to proximal femoral locked plate internal fixation. It achieves three key benefits:substantially decreasing intraoperative blood loss and postoperative drainage, dramatically shortening recovery time, and markedly reducing postoperative complication risks—all contributing positively to improved hip joint function.
