Abstract:Objective:To observe the clinical effect of minimally invasive percutaneous unilateral biportal endoscopic(UBE)interlaminar decompression in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis(LSS).Method:A total of 100 patients with LSS admitted to the Second Hospital of Longyan in Fujian Province from January 2022 to January 2025 were reviewed.Among them, patients who received minimally invasive percutaneous interlaminar UBE decompression were included in the UBE group 56 cases, and those who received traditional interlaminar fenestration and decompression were included in the control group 44 cases. The perioperative indices,Visual Analog Scale(VAS),Japanese Orthopaedic Association(JOA)and Oswestry Disability Index(ODI)scores were compared between the two groups. The incidence of complications during 3 months of follow-up after surgery was recorded.Result:The length of incision and length of hospital stay in the UBE group were shorter than those in the control group(P<0.05).At 1 month and 3 months after surgery,VAS scores of the waist and legs and ODI scores in both groups were lower than those before surgery. Moreover, above scores of the UBE group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).JOA scores were higher than those before surgery(P<0.05),and scores of the UBE group were higher(P<0.05).Postoperative complication rates in the two groups were close(P>0.05).Conclusion:Minimally invasive percutaneous interlaminar UBE decompression is effective to treat LSS,with little trauma and short hospital stay.Meanwhile,it can relieve lower back and leg pain and improve lumbar vertebral function.
