Abstract:Objective:To investigate the efficacy of electronic bronchoscopy combined with inhaled acetylcysteine in treating refractory mycoplasma pneumonia(RMPP)in children.Method:A total of 120 pediatric patients with RMPP treated at Women and Children's Medical Center Affiliated to Guangzhou Medical University between March 2023 and March 2024 were enrolled.Patients were randomly assigned to a control group and an experimental group(60 patients each)using a medical record number envelope lottery method. The control group received conventional treatment, while the experimental group underwent inhaled acetylcysteine combined with electronic bronchoscopic lung lavage therapy.Clinical efficacy, symptom scores, inflammatory markers, blood gas parameters, and adverse reactions were compared between the two groups.Result:The total effective rate in the experimental group was higher than that in the control group, with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).After treatment, cough, fever, and pulmonary rales scores,as well as C-reactive protein(CRP),procalcitonin(PCT),tumor necrosis factor(TNF-α),erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),partial pressure of carbon dioxide(PaCO2)levels in the experimental group were lower than those in the control group, while arterial oxygen saturation(SpO2)and partial pressure of oxygen(PaO2)were higher than those in the control group, with all differences being statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:Children with RMPP who receive treatment combining electronic bronchoscopy with inhaled acetylcysteine demonstrate reduced levels of inflammatory mediators and improved lung function, yielding favorable clinical outcomes with a high degree of safety.
