Abstract:Objective:To explore the application of multi-slice spiral CT(MSCT)target scan in the differential diagnosis of benign and malignant pulmonary nodules(≤1 cm).Method:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the MSCT target scan imaging data of 100 patients with pathologically confirmed pulmonary nodules measuring≤1 cm in diameter admitted to Xiamen Hongai Hospital from January 2021 to January 2024.Tumor pathology was used as the gold standard to evaluate the diagnostic performance of MSCT for lung nodules≤1 cm in diameter,as well as to analyze the MSCT characteristics of lung nodules≤1 cm in diameter of different natures.Result:Among 100 patients with pulmonary nodules≤1 cm in diameter,61 cases had malignant pulmonary nodules, including 30 cases of invasive adenocarcinoma,21 cases of small cell carcinoma, and 10 cases of squamous cell carcinoma.39 cases had benign nodules, including 15 cases of atypical neoplastic hyperplasia,8 cases of tuberculous granuloma, and 16 cases of inflammatory granuloma.MSCT target scans detected 59 malignant cases and 41 benign cases, with a diagnostic sensitivity of 88.52%,specificity of 87.18%,accuracy of 88.00%,positive predictive value of 91.53%,negative predictive value of 82.92%,and a Kappa value of 0.750,indicating good diagnostic consistency. In MSCT target scans, malignant nodular lesions show clearer lung interfaces and are often round or oval in shape. The edges of the nodules commonly exhibit lobulation and spiculation, while the internal structures commonly exhibit bronchial signs, vascular bundle signs, and pleural indentation signs. Conclusion:MSCT target scanning has good discriminatory value in determining the benignity or malignancy of pulmonary nodules with a diameter≤1 cm.It shows the shape, edge condition, and internal structure of the nodule with high specificity.
