Abstract:Objective:To investigate the efficacy of combining usultadine with high-dose ambroxol in the treatment of patients with severe pneumonia.Method:A total of 112 patients with severe pneumonia admitted to Sanming First Hospital from January 2021 to December 2024 were randomly assigned using a random number table method to either a control group or a study group, with 56 patients in each group. The control group received ustadine plus conventional-dose ambroxol, while the study group received ustadine plus high-dose ambroxol. The efficacy of the two treatment groups and the incidence of drug-related adverse reactions were compared.Additionally, changes in blood gas parameters, inflammatory cytokine levels, and the time to resolution of disease symptoms before and after treatment were evaluated.Result:The study group demonstrated superior clinical efficacy compared to the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The incidence of drug-related adverse reactions showed no statistically significant difference between the two groups(P>0.05).Post-treatment,the study group exhibited significantly better blood gas indexes compared to the control group, with all differences statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment, the levels of inflammatory-factors in the study group were all lower than those in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The time to resolution of fever, cough, sputum production, and pulmonary rales was shorter in the study group than in the control group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combination therapy of ustadine and high-dose ambroxol demonstrates proven efficacy in treating patients with severe pneumonia without increasing adverse reactions, and promotes improvement in blood gas parameters and inflammatory markers.
