Abstract:Objective:To investigate the efficacy of balloon progressive dilation technique in patients with recurrent bile duct injury and stricture during choledochojejunostomy.Method:A total of 66 patients with recurrent stricture following biliary stricture repair surgery admitted to the Yuan'an County People's Hospital between February 2021 and October 2022 were enrolled in this study.Participants were randomly assigned using a random number table method to an observation group(n=33)and a control group(n=33).The control group underwent choledochojejunostomy, while the observation group received balloon progressive dilation.Clinical recovery, complication rates, and quality of life were compared between the two groups.Result:After treatment, the observation group demonstrated a higher repair success rate than the control group, along with significantly reduced intraoperative blood loss and shorter hospital stays, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Compared to the control group, the observation group exhibited lower incidence rates of biliary bleeding, cholangitis, and anastomotic stricture during treatment, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).At 1 day postoperatively, all inflammatory and stress markers in the control group were higher than those in the observation group, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).At 6 months postoperatively, the observation group demonstrated significantly higher scores than the control group in the SF-36 questionnaire for vitality, physical functioning, physical health, bodily pain, and overall health, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).There were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in emotional well-being,mental health,or social functioning scores(P>0.05).Conclusion:The use of balloon progressive dilation in biliary-enteric anastomosis for patients with restenosis following choledochal injury repair can enhance repair success rates, shorten hospital stays, reduce complication incidence, mitigate immune and stress responses, and improve quality of life.
