Efficacy of Single-Point Technique Root Canal Filling Combined with iRoot SP in Patients with Dental Pulp Diseases

Abstract：Objective:To explore the efficacy of single-apical root canal filling combined with iRoot SP in treating patients with dental pulp diseases.Method:A total of 86 patients with dental pulp diseases treated at Gaoling District Hospital in Xi'an from May 2022 to May 2024 were enrolled in this study.They were randomly divided into an observation group and a control group,each with 43 patients.The control group received iRoot SP treatment using the cold lateral condensation technique,while the observation group underwent iRoot SP treatment combined with the single-point technique for root canal filling.Gingival health,masticatory function,pain,inflammation,filling efficacy,and complication rates were compared between the two groups.Result:Preoperatively,there were no statistically significant differences between the two groups in terms of gingival health status,masticatory function,pain,and inflammation(P>0.05).Postoperatively,both groups exhibited reduced gingival sulcus bleeding index,gingival index,and inflammatory factor levels,with the observation group showing lower values than the control group.Bite force increased,with the observation group demonstrating higher values than the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).At 1 d,7 d,and 14 d postoperatively,visual analog scale scores decreased in both groups,and the observation group showed significantly lower scores than the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The observation group demonstrated a higher correct response rate and shorter root canal filling operation time compared to the control group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The overall incidence of infection,gingival swelling,and severe pain was lower in the observation group than in the control group,with a statistically significant difference(P<0.05).Conclusion:Patients with endodontic disease who undergo single-point root canal filling combined with iRoot SP treatment experience improved gingival health and masticatory function,reduced pain and inflammatory response,with excellent root canal filling outcomes and high safety.
