Abstract:Objective:To investigate the impact of combining Yupingfeng powder with Western medicine in the treatment of pediatric allergic rhinitis characterized by lung-qi deficiency.Method:A total of 112 children with allergic rhinitis with lung-qi deficiency syndrome who were treated in the Department of Pediatrics of Jintai Hospital of Baoji City from February 2023 to December 2024 were selected as the study objects and divided into two groups according to random number method. One group was treated with conventional western medicine(Mometasone furoate nasal spray)as the control group(n=56).The other group served as the observation group was treated with Yupingfeng powder on the basis of the control group(n=56).Serum index, quality of life,TCM syndrome score, curative effect and occurrence of adverse reactions were compared.Result:There were no differences in serum indexes, the Rhinoconjunctivitis Quality of Life Questionnaire(RQLQ)scores and TCM syndrome scores between the two groups before treatment(P>0.05).After intervention, the observation group in Hypersensitive C-Reactive Protein(hs-CRP),Immunoglobulin E(IgE),as well as lower RQLQ scores and TCM syndrome scores(specifically for itching, runny nose, and sneezing)(P<0.05).The observation group demonstrated a superior therapeutic efficacy rate relative to the control cohort(P<0.05).There was no difference in the total incidence of flushing, nasal mucosal hemorrhage and nausea between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The integration of Yupingfeng powder combined with conventional Western medication demonstrates promising clinical utility in managing pediatric allergic rhinitis presenting with lung-qi deficiency and cold syndrome. This combined therapeutic approach contributes to the attenuation of inflammatory processes, modulation of immune responses, and meaningful improvement in quality of life.Furthermore,it facilitates effective symptom alleviation while exhibiting a favorable efficacy and safety profile, supporting its broader adoption in clinical practice.
