Abstract:Objective:To observe the results of early thoracoscopic surgery in the treatment of tuberculous pyothorax.Method:The data of 60 cases of tuberculous pyothorax patients admitted to Longyan Second Hospital from January 2021 to December 2023 were retrospectively analyzed and divided into two groups according to the timing of thoracoscopic surgery. Those who were operated in the early stage were the study group, and those who were operated in the late stage of the disease were the control group.Lung function indexes and blood oxygen indexes were compared between the two groups before and after the operation, and the time of disappearance of relevant symptoms, postoperative complications and recurrence rate of the patients were counted.Result:After the treatment the lung function indexes and blood oxygen indexes of the two groups were higher than before the treatment, and the research group was higher than the control group, the duration of chest tightness, dyspnea, chest pain, malaise, night sweats and low fever of the research group was shorter than that of the control group, and the rate of postoperative complications and recurrence rate of the research group were lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the thoracoscopic surgical treatment of patients with tuberculous pyothorax, early surgery is ideal for improving lung function, elevating the body's oxygen saturation, shortening the duration of related symptoms, and reducing complications and recurrence.
