Abstract:Objective:To explore the diagnostic value of musculoskeletal ultrasound combined with 25-hydroxyvitamin D[25(OH)D],total type I collagen amino-terminal propeptide(TPINP),and osteocalcin N-terminal mid-region(N-MID)in knee osteoarthritis(KOA).Method:A total of 86 KOA patients admitted to Xiamen Fifth Hospital from January 2022 to December 2024 were enrolled in the observation group, and 80 healthy individuals were selected as the control group. Both groups underwent musculoskeletal ultrasound and serum 25(OH)D,TPINP,and N-MID level tests.Spearman correlation analysis was used to assess the relationship between musculoskeletal ultrasound, serum 25(OH)D,TPINP,N-MID,and KOA.Receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve analysis was conducted to evaluate the diagnostic value of musculoskeletal ultrasound combined with serum 25(OH)D,TPINP,and N-MID levels for KOA.Result:The patellar pouch synovial thickness was higher in the observation group than that in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Serum 25(OH)D levels were lower, while TPINP and N-MID levels in the observation group were higher than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Correlation analysis revealed a positive correlation between patellar pouch synovial thickness,TPINP,and N-MID with KOA,while 25(OH)D was negatively correlated with KOA.ROC analysis showed that the musculoskeletal ultrasound combined with serum 25(OH)D,TPINP,and N-MID levels had a sensitivity of 95.3%,specificity of 97.5%,and an AUC of 0.970,all superior to any single test. Conclusion:The combination of musculoskeletal ultrasound and serum 25(OH)D,TPINP,and N-MID levels significantly improves the early diagnostic ability of KOA.This combined diagnostic approach demonstrates higher sensitivity, specificity, and diagnostic accuracy compared to single tests.
