The Effect of Acupoint Application Combined with Ear-patch Therapy on Cough Related to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease

Abstract：Objective:To elucidate the specific process and efficacy of acupoint application combined with ear-patch therapy in the treatment of COPD combined with cough.Method:From December 2023 to January 2025,80 patients of COPD complicated with cough participated in this study from Nanning Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital.According to the principle of randomization,patients were classified into control group and test group,with 40 cases in each group.The control group received general medication and nursing from the department,while the test group received acupuncture point application combined with ear-patch therapy.Compare the CCS scores,lung capacity,cough severity and cough related quality of life between two groups.Result:After applying acupoint patches combined with ear-patch therapy to treat cough,the test group showed clearly better on the CCS and VAS scales,lung capacity and cough related quality of life compared to the control group.Conclusion:The combination of acupoint application and plaster therapy effectively improves cough symptoms,lung capacity and cough related quality of life in COPD patients with cough.
