The Effect of Mind Mapping Health Education in Patients with Colorectal Cancer with Temporary Colostomy

Abstract:Objective:To explore the effectiveness of mind mapping health education in patients with colorectal cancer with temporary colostomy.Method:130 patients with colorectal cancer with temporary enterostomy admitted to Jianyang First Hospital in Nanping City from June 2020 to June 2024 were selected the subjects,and were randomly into the study and the control group,65 cases in group.The control received conventional rehabilitation nursing care,and the study group used thinking guide health education,and both groups received nursing care for a period of 12 weeks.Before and after the intervention,self-care ability,survival quality,peristoma skin status,awareness and complications were compared between the two groups.Result:After 12 weeks of intervention,erosion,discoloration,and tissue proliferation scores lower in study group compared the control,and difference was statisically sigifiant(P<0.05).The quality of cancer survival scores in the 3 domains of symptomatic domain,functional domain and general health status were elevated in study group compared the control group,the difference was statistcally signifcant(P<0.05).The scores the dimensions of self-care ability the study increased mpared with the trol group,and the diffence was statiscally signcant(P<0.05).Knowledge scores the 3 dimensions of complication recognition,stoma replacement,and precautions were elevated in the study compared with control group,difference was stastically signcant(P<0.05).The complicon rate of the study group was lwer than that of the control,and the difference was stastically signifnt(P<0.05).Conclusion:Mind mapping health education can better improve the quality of cancer survival and peristoma skin status of colorectal cancer patients with temporary colostomy,improve self-care ability and knowledge.
