Abstract:Objective:To explore the effects of arthroscopic-assisted Ilizarov stretch technique on joint range of motion, ankle osteoarthritis(AOS)score and inflammatory factors in patients with post-traumatic osteoarthritis of the ankle(PTOA).Method:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the diagnosis and treatment data of 67 patients with PTOA who underwent surgical treatment at Xiamen Fifth Hospital from January 2020 to December 2023.Among them,35 cases were treated with arthroscopic-assisted Ilizarov traction technique(Group A),and 32 cases were treated with traditional open ankle arthroplasty(Group B).The general conditions of the surgery and the levels of serum inflammatory factors before and after the surgery were compared between the two groups. The patients were followed up for 6 months after the surgery. The AOS score and joint range of motion at the last follow-up were recorded, and the therapeutic effect was evaluated.Result:The operation time, intraoperative blood loss and hospital stay in group A were significantly less than those in group B,and the incidence of complications was significantly lower than that in group B.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Half a month after the operation, the indicators of interleukin(IL)-6,C-reactive protein(CRP),and tumor necrosis factor(TNF)-α in group A were significantly lower than those in group B.At the last follow-up,the AOS score and joint range of motion in group A were significantly greater than those in group B,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The excellent and good rate of group A was significantly higher than that of group B,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with open fusion in the treatment of PTOA,arthroscopic-assisted Ilizarov stretch technique can quickly restore the ankle function of patients and reduce inflammatory responses. It is an effective and safe method for the treatment of traumatic ankle osteoarthritis.
