Abstract:Objective:To investigate the efficacy and safety of budesonide formoterol combination inhalation therapy in patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease(COPD)with respiratory failure, with particular attention to changes in oxidative stress, and to assess its impact on clinical symptoms, lung function, and inflammatory factor levels.Method:The clinical data of 100 patients with COPD with respiratory failure admitted to the First Affiliated Hospital of Gannan Medical University from January 2023 to December 2024 were retrospectively analysed, and were divided into the experimental group and the control group according to the different treatment protocols, with 50 cases each.On the basis of conventional treatment, the experimental group was treated with budesonide formoterol combined inhalation therapy, and the control group was not treated with budesonide formoterol combined inhalation therapy.Lung function, arterial blood gases, levels of inflammatory factors, and drug safety were assessed in the 2 groups after 10 days of treatment.Result:The experimental group was significantly better than the control group in improving lung function, reducing dyspnoea, increasing PaO2 and reducing PaCO2.Inflammatory factor levels decreased significantly in the experimental group.During treatment, the experimental group had fewer adverse drug reactions and the side effects were mainly mild local discomfort.Conclusion:Budesonide-formoterol combination inhalation therapy showed favorable clinical efficacy in patients with COPD and respiratory failure, effectively improving lung function, alleviating symptoms, and suppressing inflammation. This treatment regimen has a high safety profile.
