Abstract:Objective:Exploring the efficacy of combination therapy with aripiprazole and lithium carbonate in patients with schizophrenia.Method:80 patients with schizophrenia admitted to the Third Hospital of Nanping City from January 2023 to May 2024 were selected as the study objects and randomly divided into an observation group(40 cases, treated with aripiprazole combined with lithium carbonate)and a control group(40 cases, treated with aripiprazole). The mental symptoms, neurotransmitters[dopamine(DA),norepinephrine(NE)],aggressive behaviors, quality of life and adverse reactions of the two groups were compared.Result:After 12 weeks of treatment, the observation group had lower scores in all dimensions and total scores of the Positive and Negative Symptom Scale,as well as lower scores in the Revised Explicit Aggressive Behavior Scale(MOAS)and DA compared to the control group. The NE level and Activities of Daily Living(ADL)score were higher in the observation group than in the control group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).There was no statistically significant difference in adverse reactions between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:The combination of aripiprazole and lithium carbonate can not only regulate the neurotransmitter metabolism levels of patients with schizophrenia, but also alleviate their mental symptoms and aggressive behavior, while helping to improve their quality of life, with acceptable safety.
