Abstract:Objective:To compare the effects of transabdominal preperitoneal hernia repair(TAPP)and Lichtenstein tension-free hernia repair on gastrointestinal function in the treatment of incarcerated inguinal hernia in adults.Method:120 adult patients with incarcerated inguinal hernia from Xiamen Fifth Hospital from September 2019 to September 2023 were selected as the research subjects. They were divided into different surgical groups, namely TAPP group(60 cases)and Lichtenstein group(60 cases). The surgical related indicators and gastrointestinal function recovery indicators pain level, recurrence rate, and incidence of complications at different postoperative time points between two groups were compared.Result:The perioperative improvement in the TAPP group(hospitalization, anal exhaust, defecation, surgical time, and intraoperative bleeding)was significantly better than that in the Lichtenstein group.2 h and 8 h VAS scores in TAPP group were lower than those in Lichtenstein group, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05),but there was no statistically significant difference in recurrence rate and complication rate between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:TAPP has outstanding advantages in the treatment of adult incarcerated inguinal hernia in terms of surgical trauma and recovery, while Lichtenstein tension-free hernia repair has certain advantages in the treatment of hernia contents and spermatic cord, but the clinical selection still needs to consider the specific situation of the patients.
