Effect of Treatment with Jiawei Qingxin Tang Combined with Sodium Valproate on the Oxidation-antioxidant System in Adult Epilepsy

Abstract：Objective:To study the effect of Jiawei Qingxin Tang combined with sodium valproate treatment on the oxidative-antioxidant system in adult epilepsy.Method:120 cases of epilepsy patients who attended Daye People's Hospital from June 2022 to June 2023 were selected for the study,and were divided into the control group and the group was divided into the control group(n=60)and the observation group(n=60)by the envelope method.The control group was treated with valproic acid,and the observation group was treated with Jiawei Qingxin Tang on the basis of the control group,and the treatment process lasted for 1 month.The TCM symptom scores of the two groups were compared and the treatment efficiency was calculated.The serum malondialdehyde(MDA),superoxide dismutase(SOD),glutathione peroxidase(GSH-Px)levels and the degree of nerve damage[neuron specific enolase(NSE),myelin basic protein(MBP)]were compared before and after the treatment,and the occurrence of the patients'adverse reactions during the treatment was counted.Result:The treatment efficiency of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The MDA level of the observation group was lower than that of the control group after treatment,and the levels of SOD and GSH-Px were higher than that of the control group,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The levels of NSE and MBP were reduced in both groups,and the observation group was lower than the control group,with statistically significant difference(P<0.05).The difference in the incidence of adverse reactions between the two groups was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:Jiawei Qingxin Tang combined with sodium valproate is better than sodium valproate monotherapy,which not only reduces the oxidation level in the patients'body,but also reduces neuronal damage and improves the patients'seizure condition.
