Abstract:Objective:To explore the impact of adenoidectomy on nasal inflammation control and Th1/Th2 cell balance in children with adenoid hypertrophy and allergic rhinitis(AR).Method:100 children with adenoid hypertrophy combined with allergic rhinitis who were treated at Puning People's Hospital from June 2022 to June 2024 were selected and randomly divided into a control group(treated with drugs,n=50)and an observation group(treated with drugs plus adenoidectomy,n=50)according to the random number table method. The control of rhinitis in the two groups, the levels of inflammatory factors[tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),leukocyte mediators(IL)-4,IL-6,interferon-γ(INF-γ)]before and after treatment, and the occurrence of adverse reactions were compared.Result:The total effective rate of treatment in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment in both groups, the levels of TNF-α,IL-4 and IL-6 decreased, and those in the observation group were lower than those in the control group. The level of INF-γ increased in both groups, and that in the observation group was higher than that in the control group. The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The occurrence of adverse reactions in the observation group was higher than that in the control group, but the difference was not statistically significant(P>0.05).Conclusion:Adenoidectomy can effectively increase the total effective rate of treatment for children with adenoid hypertrophy accompanied by AR,reduce the levels of inflammatory factors, and subsequently regulate the Th1/Th2 cell balance, with high safety.
