Abstract:Objective:To compare the clinical efficacy of artificial hemiarthroplasty and proximal femoral nail(PFNA)fixation for Evans type Id intertrochanteric fractures in elderly patients.Method:A retrospective analysis was conducted on the relevant data of 72 elderly patients with Evans type Id intertrochanteric fractures of the femur admitted to Shishou People's Hospital from January 2018 to January 2024.According to the surgical method, they were divided into observation group and control group, with 36 cases in each group. The observation group underwent artificial hemiarthroplasty, while the control group underwent PFNA internal fixation. The surgical time, perioperative blood loss,Harris hip joint function score, and patient satisfaction were compared between the two groups.Result:Both groups were followed up for 6~12 months. No complications, such as incision infection, prosthetic failure,or internal fixation failure, were observed.Operation time, blood loss, hip joint function and patient satisfaction, the artificial hemiarthroplasty of observation group were better than the PFNA group, and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:Artificial hemiarthroplasty for the treatment of intertrochanteric type Id fractures of the femur in elderly patients has shorter time and less perioperative blood loss compared to the PFNA internal fixation. It is simple to operate and has significant efficacy.Postoperatively,it allows patients to get out bed early, improve their quality of life, and achieve high patient satisfaction.
