Abstract:Objective:To analyze the diagnostic value of CT and magnetic resonance imaging(MRI)in chondroblastoma of the temporal bone.Method:83 patients with suspected chondroblastoma of the temporal bone admitted to 940 Hospital of the Joint Logistics Support Force of the Chinese People's Liberation Army from May 2019 to May 2024 were selected as the study subjects and their clinical manifestations and imaging characteristics were analyzed.Result:Of the 83 patients,64 were clinically diagnosed with chondroblastoma of the temporal bone and 19 were excluded. The sensitivity of CT,MRI and combined examinations was 79.69%,84.28%and 87.50%,the specificity was 68.42%,73.68%and 84.21%,the positive predictive value was 89.47%,91.53%and 94.92%,the accuracy was 77.11%,81.93%and 86.75%and negative predictive values was 50.00%,58.33%and 66.67%.Kappa values were 0.426,0.531 and 0.910.The difference in the detection rates of the two imaging specialties was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combined diagnostic sensitivity, specificity and accuracy are higher than the single diagnostic effect of MRI and CT.Both CT and MRI have high sensitivity in the diagnosis of chondroblastoma of temporal bone and can be used as alternatives to each other.
