The Clinical Efficacy of Acupuncture Combined with Pei's Wuyao Gancao Ersan Tang in the Treatment of Ankylosing Spondylitis Patients and Its Impact on the Levels of Inflammatory Factors

Abstract：Objective:To explore the clinical effect and influence on the levels of inflammatory factors in the treatment of patients with ankylosing spondylitis by the combined implementation of acupuncture method and Pei's Wuyao Gancao Ersan Tang.Method:A total of 120 patients with ankylosing spondylitis diagnosed and treated in Wuwei Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from August 2022 to August 2024 were selected as the study objects and divided into two groups by random number table method,namely the control group(60 cases,treated with conventional Western medicine,namely celecoxib capsules)and the observation group(60 cases,treated with acupuncture and Pei's Wuyao Gancao Ersan Tang on the basis of conventional Western medicine).The TCM syndrome scores,levels of inflammatory factors[erythrocyte sedimentation rate(ESR),C-reactive protein(CRP)]and changes of physical sign indicators(morning stiffness time,thoracic expansion degree,occipital-wall distance)before and after treatment were compared between the two groups,and the total clinical effective rates of the two groups were statistically analyzed.Result:The TCM syndrome score,ESR and CRP levels of the observation group after treatment were lower than those of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The morning stiffness time after treatment in the observation group was shorter than that in the control group,the thoracic expansion was longer than that in the control group,and the occipital wall distance was shorter than that in the control group.The differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The comparison of the total clinical effective rate showed that the observation group was higher than the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:The combined application of Bangacupuncture and Pei's Wuyao Gancao Ersan Tang in the treatment can improve the clinical effect of patients with ankylosing spondylitis,alleviate clinical symptoms,and reduce inflammatory responses.
