Effect of Continuous Blood Purification Therapy in Patients with Sepsis

Abstract：Objective:To explore the effect of continuous blood purification(CBP)treatment in patients with sepsis.Method:80 patients with sepsis admitted to the First People's Hospital of Zunyi City from January 2022 to December 2023 were selected as the research objects.They were divided into the control group and the observation group according to different treatment methods,with 39 cases and 41 cases in each group respectively.The control group received conventional treatment,while the observation group was treated with CBP on this basis.Both groups were treated for one week.The severity of the disease,inflammatory mediators,coagulation indicators and clinical indicators before and after treatment were compared between the two groups.Result:The Sequential Organ Failure Assessment(SOFA)score and Acute Physiology and Chronic Health Evaluation Ⅱ(APACHE Ⅱ)score of both groups decreased after treatment,and those of the observation group were even lower.The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The levels of procalcitonin(PCT),tumor necrosis factor-α(TNF-α),and C-reactive protein(CRP)in both groups decreased after treatment,and the levels in the observation group were even lower,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).The levels of activated partial thromboplastin time(APTT),thrombin time(TT),and prothrombin time(PT)in both groups increased after treatment,and were higher in the observation group,with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).Compared with the control group,the total length of hospital stay,the length of stay in the intensive care unit(ICU),and the mechanical ventilation time in the observation group were shorter,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:CBP treatment for patients with sepsis can alleviate the severity of the disease,reduce the level of inflammatory mediators,improve the coagulation function of patients,and promote the recovery of patients.
