Abstract:Objective:To investigate the efficacy of combined treatment with midazolam and phenobarbital in children with convulsive status epilepticus(CSE).Method:74 patients with CSE admitted to Putian Children's Hospital from June 2022 to June 2024 were selected as the research objects and divided into the control group and the observation group according to the random number table method, with 37 cases in each group. The control group was treated with phenobarbital.Based on this, the observation group was also treated with midazolam. The therapeutic effects,neuro-related factors of the brain, inflammatory factors, oxidative stress indicators,Status Epilepticus Severity Score(STESS score),and drug safety of the two groups were compared.Result:The therapeutic effect of the observation group was better than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the cranial neuro-related factors in both groups decreased, and those in the observation group were even lower. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the levels of inflammatory factors in both groups decreased, and the levels in the observation group were even lower. The difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After the treatment, the STESS scores of both groups decreased, and the change in the observation group was more obvious, with statistically significant differences(P<0.05).After the treatment, the levels of superoxide dismutase(SOD)in both groups increased, while malondialdehyde(MDA)and nitric oxide(NO)decreased, and the changes in the observation group were more obvious(P<0.05).Comparison of the safety of the two groups of drugs(P>0.05).Conclusion:The treatment of children with CSE with midazolam combined with phenobarbital has a good effect. It can effectively relieve the clinical symptoms of children, improve cranial nerves, reduce brain tissue damage, inhibit inflammatory responses and oxidative stress, promote the prognosis of children, and the drug safety is ideal.
