Abstract:Objective:To investigate the effect of preserving anterior thoracic nerve(ATN)and intercostobrachial nerve(ICBN)in modified radical mastectomy(MRM)for breast cancer.Method:82 breast cancer patients who received MRM in the Third People's Hospital of Jingzhou City from August 2020 to July 2023 were selected as the study objects and divided into study group and control group according to random number table, with 41 cases in each group. The control group was treated with conventional MRM,while the study group was treated with ATN and ICBN.Intraoperative indexes, postoperative indexes,complications,FACT-B score, local recurrence rate and distant metastasis rate were compared between the two groups.Result:There was no significant difference in operation time and number of lymph node dissection between the two groups(P>0.05).The blood loss and drainage volume of the study group were less than that of the control group, and the hospital stay was shorter than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of complications in the study group was lower than that in the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After operation, the FACT-B score of the study group was lower than that of the control group, and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The 1-year follow-up showed that there was no significant difference between the local recurrence rate and distant metastasis rate between the two groups(P>0.05).Conclusion:MRM with ATN and ICBN can reduce the surgical trauma, bleeding volume and postoperative drainage volume of patients with breast cancer, reduce the risk of complications, and shorten the rehabilitation process.
