Clinical Effect of Warm Acupuncture and Moxibustion on Patients with Lumbar Disc Herniation

Abstract：Objective:To investigate the clinical effect of warm acupuncture and moxibustion on patients with lumbar disc herniation.Method:A total of 152 patients with lumbar disc herniation treated in Juancheng County Hospital of Traditional Chinese Medicine from February 2022 to February 2024 were selected,according to the random number table method,they were divided into two groups,the control group(n=76)was given routine treatment,and the observation group(n=76)was added warm acupuncture and moxibustion treatment on the basis of the control group,and the efficacy of the two groups was compared.Result:The total clinical effective rate of the observation group was higher than that of the control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the scores of lumbar cold pain,limb cold,aggravated cold pain and lateral restriction in both groups were lower than those before treatment,and the observation group was lower than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,lumbar anterior flexion,lateral flexion and posterior extension of the two groups were greater than those before treatment,and the observation group was greater than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treatment,the visual analogue scale(VAS)score and dysfunction index(ODI)score of the two groups were lower than those before treatment,and the observation group was lower than the control group,and the Japanese Orthopaedic Association evaluation scale(JOA)score of the two groups was higher than those before treatment,and the observation group was higher than the control group,the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).The incidence of adverse reactions in observation group was lower than that in control group,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusion:In the treatment of patients with lumbar disc herniation,the application of warm acupuncture and moxibustion can help improve the overall treatment effect,alleviate clinical symptoms,reduce body pain,and have a good effect on restoring lumbar function.
